Why should humans be the only ones who get to wear football jerseys in support of their favorite team on game day? Now, pet owners can buy matching football jerseys for their dogs, so their companions can watch the game from their side of the recliner, in style. Football jerseys are available for dogs in almost any size and style, for any team in the NFL, or even college football. Jerseys come with long sleeves or short sleeves, with either the city or team name and a player number decorating the side facing the dog's back.
Owners must carefully measure the circumference of their dog's neck, back and chest to ensure proper fit. Most of the garments are available in 100-percent polyester. The football jerseys for dogs are machine washable and usually fit dogs up to 70 pounds. Gauging the dog's chest size is perhaps the most important measurement in determining the size of the football jersey. Owners should measure their dogs from behind the front legs to the back. Accurate measurements could make the difference in whether the dog will be able to comfortably walk in the jersey.
Owners should also measure their dog's back, from the neck base to the base of the tail. Measurements around the neck will also determine fit. So, the next time you grab your remote and squeeze into your favorite team's football jersey, consider allowing your dog to chew a bone on the floor next to you, dressed in a similar jersey designed just for him.
