A good way to set your goals is with the help of goal setting forms. These forms help you to break your goals into sub-goals, set time frames, identify obstacles and keep track of your progress. They work as excellent reminder sheets, reminding you of the steps that you need to take to achieve your goals.
You can use these forms to simultaneously list your goals in areas like career, health, finance, family etc. Then, when the long-term goals have been defined, you can break them down to short-term goals. After this, you need to write down the actions or steps that you need to take to achieve these goals.
A useful feature of the forms is that they allow you to change your priorities according to the situation. Your goals therefore become dynamic, and more realistic. They also enable you to prepare for the upcoming events. For instance, if you are not good in biology you can make a note of it in the form, and assign an extra couple of hours for its study. This way you will be better prepared for the medical entrance test that may test your knowledge of biology.
You can also add information to your forms as your goals change. In fact, this is the best way to make proper use of your forms because every individual aspires to new things all the time. The forms teach you the way to break your new goals into easy, achievable tasks.
You can write your goals in pencil or use an Excel sheet or a Word document file to list your goals. If, however, you are using a physical form then you should avoid using a pen, because it is difficult to modify goals written in ink. Written by: The Editor
