When you are looking for a kayak car rack, you will immediately
find that there is a large variety to choose from. There are
many different ways that you can travel with your kayak on the
roof of your vehicle. Your goal is to choose the best one for
your vehicle and your kayak. You want to ensure that the system
that you choose is completely reliable and able to hold the size
of your kayak.
There are three main different types of mountings for your
kayak. These three are all equaly efficient, depending on your
vehicle and the size of your kayak. Listed below are these three
mountings with their description provided for you.
Saddle System
This system consists of four padded holders that are attached to
your vehicle for the kayak to rest on. This is also combined
with straps that wrap around the kayak to prevent the kayak from
flying lose.
Roller System
This system is the exact same as the saddle system except that
it has wheels. This makes for a easy loading and easy removing
of the kayak.
Verticle Support System
This is a holder that would normally go on the very back of your
vehicle. Most often used with vans or SUVs. The holder is
combined with upright poles and straps to ensure that the kayak
stays in its upright position for the entire ride.
Although there is one verticle system available, it is more
common to travel with your kayak on the roof of your vehicle and
much easier as well. These are great systems to use and are very
reliable if installed correctly. They can be adjusted for the
size of your kayak, and are very practical for any vehicle. All
you have to do now is pick one, install it and start your
traveling plan! Written by: the Editor
